Life crises and grief

Separation, job loss, illness or the death of someone close can throw life off course. Grief is a normal reaction and becomes easier over time for most people. For a smaller group it remains very intense for many months and paralyses daily life. This is called prolonged grief disorder.

What you can do yourself

  • Allow your feelings

Grief does not follow a plan. Sadness, anger and relief are all allowed.

  • Do not stay alone

Talk to people you trust. Grief groups can also help.

  • Support your daily life

Sleep, eat and move regularly, even when it is hard.

Which therapies are used for life crises and grief?

Sorted by the state of research on grief. The rating shows how well the effect is supported, not whether it will help you.
