When to see a doctor straight away

If any of these comes on top of your symptoms:

  • Chest pressure or pain, breathlessness, also spreading to the arm, jaw or back: call 144 at once
  • Stiff neck with fever, severe headache or a rash
  • Numbness, tingling or weakness in the arms or legs
  • Severe pain after an accident or fall

In an emergency: 144

What you can do yourself

  • Move and loosen up

Gentle movement and stretching release tension better than resting.

  • Heat

A warm bath, a hot-water bottle or a heat pack relaxes the muscles.

  • Take breaks

Get up regularly during screen work. Reduce stress deliberately.
